Hello, and welcome to the medical collections challenge letter module. And in this module, I’m going to walk you through how to create your medical collection templates specifically. Now, like I said in a previous module, you can include medical collections at the negative account round level, but as you’re going to go through with the rest of the challenging processes, I’m going to start teaching you guys, especially in week five, how to get skinny. So assuming you choose to move forward with the medical collection template, I’m going to walk you through step-by-step how to complete this template. And it’s really straight forward. The only difference is that we’re including specific verbiage about HIPAA and all this stuff about medical collections. So here’s what we’re going to cover. So the very first thing I’m going to get into is a data input format, just so you can make sure you’re inputting your information inside this template letter correctly.
Then I’m going to show you how to use this letter with the audit sheet to complete the letter generator. So that input format really straight forward. At this point, you may have already seen this, but I want to cover it. Assuming you’re getting to, if you’re only addressing medical collections on your file. So you want to enter in only your first name, your last name, your street number with just the numerical number portion, the street name, only the street name, not avenue, street, drive. Only the street name, only the city name, only the state and zip code. Then you want to include the name of the creditor and account number or original creditor. If applicable. Notice, when you enter in the data and how I have this data, input it in, you want to enter only the first initial or the first letter of the word or name capital, everything else needs to be lowercase.
So this is how you input this at this point. If you’ve seen this before, I’m just want to reiterate the importance of making sure you input this data inside of your challenge letter, following this format. Okay. So let’s go ahead and get over down to the challenge letter and I’ll show you how to exactly how to fill this out. Okay. So let me head over there. So we’re going to start with the date. So you just want to choose whatever the date you are in. So you’re going to choose today’s date. They’re going to choose the data input source. So if it’s SmartCredit, you would just choose SmartCredit. And again, we’re going to enter in our name, just like I just explained. So first initial, everything else lowercase for that first letter of the name, we’re going to type in our email address.
So again, type in the email address that you want these letters to be sent to because I will send them directly there and we’re going to type in the last four digits of the social. And then we’re going to type in the address, just like we explained. All right. So, all right, give me one second. Almost done. So again, everything needs to be in this format and it’s specific to this format and zip code doesn’t have to have the zip code on there. You can get away with doing this without the zip, but if you want to include the zip, you can. And then again, with the date of birth, we always want to choose the month first, then the year second, then we want to choose the date last. So that way you can actually save our date of birth.
Make sure you do it that way. Because if you don’t your date of birth, won’t show accurately on your challenge letters, and that’s how you want to do. Then we’re going to choose bureau. So assuming you’re doing TransUnion, we would just choose TransUnion and then we’re going to choose the 20-digit of tracking code. You would just choose one of these tracking codes, really doesn’t matter which one you choose. And then what we’re going to do is hop back over to our audit sheet. So again, we completed this in week two. So if you have that medical collection there, you would just control copy, and then notice you want to see what bureau this is with. So we’re starting with TransUnion. So these medical collections, all four that we identified are on all bureaus. So what does control copy, just like this.
And then we are going to command paste and it’s not necessary to include the amount of the collection there. Just the number, the account name and the number is fine. And we’re going to just do the same exact thing. Control copy, and control paste. And this is why doing that audit sheet is so important because it just makes this process so easy. Literally just makes it so easy. As you can see, it’s as simple, just copy paste. Everything else is really just plug and play. All right. And then once we have all this stuff input it in for our TransUnion letter, we know that we would do the same exact thing for Experian, because this is on three. So this one isn’t on Experian. So we would only include these three and then these three with Equifax, all right?
So we would go through and do those additional challenge letters, but these are all the ones that we have. We can enter up to 11 per challenge for medical collections. And then because all the other ones are mandatory fields. We just do just the period, tab, so we’ll just do period. Tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab. All right. And then, and you can do tab or enter, then hit submit, and then you’re going to watch the welcome video. It’s going to walk you through exactly how to access your challenge letter, how to download it and save it. Then you do this for the other two bureaus, assuming you have it on other two bureaus, then mark complete, and I will see you in the next challenge letter.
