4. Offline Data Suppressions

Hello, and welcome to this module and what we are going to cover is the offline data suppression. So this is going to also be a fairly quick module, more of an action module, but there are a few things I want to really walk you through. So unlike the online data suppressions, there’s a couple of things you need to do in order to make sure that this happens. So here’s what we’re going to go ahead and cover in this particular module. So the first thing I’m going to go into is the verification document. So really what I want you to do is get a copy, take a clear copy of your driver’s license or your passport or your ID. Then if you have a copy of your social security card, I want you to get a copy of your social security card. Now, some cases you may not have a copy of your social security card for whatever reason.

So what you can do is in lieu of not having your social security card, you can use a W2 or a tax form that shows your social security number on it. So W2 will be fine, a pay stub, which sometimes pay stub don’t have a social security numbers, but a W2,1099, or any type of 1040 form should be good to go to show your social security number. And that’s the absolute worst case scenario. If you do not have a social security number, so you want to get those documents. Now, the next thing is I’m going to cover right below this video is the suppression template letter. So below this video, there’s going to be a number of cheatsheets. And with those cheatsheets a they’re going to be specific to that data furnisher that you’re suppressing. So the first one is going to be, Hey, look, you need to edit this cheatsheet. So what you have to do, not even the cheatsheet, you have to edit your template first. So once you’ve edited your template, then you’ll go through the rest of the cheatsheets and then just send your template that you completed to each data furnisher. Cause they’re going to require a fax and that’s really it. So go ahead and take action. This is an action module. Everything is outlined step-by-step, and I will see you in the next module.
